Youth Group News

Welcome back to another year at youth group. We hope to see some new faces along with some old ones. We already have some things planned and are still working on some other things to keep us busy, learning and having fun all year long. We have a new web site for the youth group this year. On it you will find the news of the youth group. We will post the days and times we meet along with the dates that we will not be meeting. We will be posting the activities that we are doing. We will also have permission slips to print if we are going somewhere or doing something that we need permission for. After we have permission from parents we will put up some pictures on the web site that we take at various times during our meetings.
We will still be doing the same routine as in the past. We start with a few songs and pledges, reciting our Bible verses and our weekly Bible lesson. After the lesson we always play a game for candy prizes. Then comes the time everyone looks forward to, playing in the gym. After years of knowing the older kids get to play in the gym it is finally our turn to play there also. We usually play kickball or handball because this is what is voted on by a majority. We are always open to new suggestions if anyone has any new ideas. After we play for while we retire to fellowship hall for a small snack before leaving at 8:30.
We have also come up with a new thing that we will do once in a while. It will only work if everyone does their part in participating. We will all need to bring in one ingredient. After our Bible lesson we will go to fellowship hall and together we will take turns adding our ingredients and mixing them and make a batch of cookies for our evening snack.
As I mentioned earlier we earn candy for reciting Bible verses each week and playing the game after our Bible lesson. We will also be giving candy for every food item brought in. Throughout the entire year we will be collecting food for our food pantry. This is one good deed that we can all do for God. God expects us all to do something for Him and this is a one easy task that we all can do.
